HomeFestival of QuiltsThe Festival of Quilts launched in 2003, in partnership with The Quilters' Guild, as a place for quilters from around the world to share their passion. 20 years later, it's the largest quilt show in Europe. It features workshops, talks and one of the largest quilt competitions in the world. There are also a wide range of quilting materials and brands available to purchase.Quilting: Noun ['kwIltING]Exact descriptions vary, especially since a quilt is often defined by many as a comfortable bedcover. Quiltmakers agree that a quilt consists of a multilayered textile. It is usually composed of three layers of fabric with one layer of wadding in the middle. All three layers are then stitched together. Stitches are often based on patterns or designs.
