If you’re looking for a vibrant and engaging day in Indiana, the Penrod Arts Fair is an event you won’t want to miss! Each year, this beloved fair features around 350 artist booths that showcase incredible talent and creativity. The artists are grouped into four main areas, each marked by a distinct color: Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red. Take your time exploring the booths; you’ll find a diverse range of artwork from local and nationally recognized artists, providing you with the perfect opportunity to support the arts and perhaps even discover a new favorite piece to take home. In addition to the stunning art, there are approximately 50 non-artist booths that represent community organizations through what we call “Projects” booths. These booths are also divided into their own color-coded areas, making navigation a breeze while enriching your experience with information about local initiatives.
As you stroll through the fair, make sure to treat yourself to delicious food and beverages from our many vendors. With around three designated food areas – Green, Red, Orange, and Yellow – there's a variety to choose from, catering to all types of palates. A highlight for many is the beer garden, where you can sip on refreshing brews from Indiana's finest craft breweries. If you’re visiting with family, don't miss the popular Children’s Area full of activities designed to entertain and engage the little ones. Additionally, there are multiple performance stages featuring live music and dance from genres like blues, rock, folk, and jazz. Be prepared for a festive atmosphere packed with laughter, creativity, and connection. This year’s fair is cashless, so be sure to bring along your card to make transactions smooth and easy. The Penrod Arts Fair. The Penrod Arts Fair is one of the largest single-day arts fairs in the country. Taking place on the Newfields grounds since 1967, the fair welcomes approximately 20,000 patrons to enjoy live music, food, drink, and the wares of hundreds of artists. Please join us the first Saturday after Labor Day for “Indiana’s Nicest Day”. Each year the Penrod Arts Fair features approximately 350 artist booths divided among four main artist areas, which we designate as Artists Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red. In addition, the Fair includes around 50 non-artist booths for community organizations, which we refer to as “Projects” booths. Projects booths are also divided among four main areas, which we designate as Projects Green, Red, and Blue. Similarly, each year we have dozens of food and beverage vendors divided among three main food areas, Food Green, Red, Orange, and Yellow. For the last several years, we have included a beer garden featuring beers from Indiana craft breweries. The Fair also includes a popular Children’s Area and multiple performance stages for live dance, blues, rock, folk, symphony, jazz, and other music and entertainment acts. This year’s Fair is cashless.
