The wort is boiled, and hops are added for flavor and aroma. Hops are flowers that give beer its unique taste. After boiling, the wort is cooled down and yeast is added. Yeast is a special kind of fungus that helps turn sugars in the wort into alcohol and carbon dioxide, which are key ingredients in beer.
The last part of the process is fermenting. Fermentation happens when the wort sits in tanks for a few weeks. During this time, the yeast works its magic, creating alcohol. This is an important part of the beer-making process, because it helps create the different kinds of flavors and aromas in beer. After fermentation, the beer is filtered and packaged in bottles, cans, or kegs. It is then ready to be enjoyed.
